Support the Women's Center through the 2025 VT Giving Day Campaign
It’s GIVING DAY!! Remember what it was like to be in middle school? Yeah, so do we. That’s why we’re such big fans of AWARE, a Women’s Center program that connects undergraduate women mentors with local middle schoolers for listening, guidance, and real talk. This #VTGivingDay, from February 19 at noon to February 20 at noon, please help girls in our community thrive by donating to the Women’s Center. We appreciate your support!
Resources for Working Parents
It is now easy to submit a request directly to join the working parents listserv. Approvals generally happen within 2 business days. There is also a working parents Facebook page, with lots of information, resources, and updates. Connecting with other working parents makes everything just a little bit easier!
Initiatives to support you
As a unit of the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, the Women's Center functions in a number of areas.

MARCH IS WOMEN'S MONTH!
Women’s Month recognizes, affirms, and showcases the achievements, concerns, and diversity of women. A feminist perspective — one that encourages and advances women of all races, political affiliations, national origins, religions, ages, abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and income levels — underlies all our programming. The annual event occurs in March in conjunction with National Women’s History Month. The National Women's History Month theme for this year is Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations. This theme recognizes the influence of women who have dedicated their lives to education, mentorship, and leadership. Women’s Month has historically represented Virginia Tech’s broad commitment to celebrating diverse and inclusive communities. To honor this ongoing commitment, the Women’s Month 2025 calendar highlights programs and events aligned with the Virginia Tech Principles of Community. If you have questions, please contact Emma Stubbe.

AWARE is a student-run organization facilitated through the Virginia Tech Women’s Center. This team of student mentors develops curriculum and facilitates educational programs for the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls at Blacksburg Middle School. Mentors lead weekly group discussions and activities on topics such as healthy relationships, body image, activism, and mental health. Mentors also coordinate an end-of-year "College Day" field trip to Virginia Tech's Blacksburg campus. The AWARE Program is currently recruiting for the 2025-2026 school year.
