Caregiver Support
The Women’s Center recognizes the unprecedented challenges that are facing caregivers during the pandemic. Faculty, staff and student caregivers are under incredible amounts of stress as we try to juggle our caregiving responsibilities with our work and school responsibilities. The Women’s Center is keenly aware of the disproportionate impact caregiving has on women and wants to provide support to all caregivers.
We are working in collaboration with other Virginia Tech offices to advocate for student, faculty and staff caregivers needs. Please reach out to us if we may be of support by emailing Christine Dennis Smith.
An opportunity for working parents to come together to network, share resources and support one another. There have been many email requests lately to add folks to the Working Parent Listserv. Individuals interested in joining can now go here and request to join the group. It may take a couple of business days to be added.

Visit the Caregiving website. There is also a Facebook page. For additional information email Kim Thomason.
Little Hokies, a collaboration between the Women's Center, the Graduate School, and the Graduate Student Association, is a free shopping event for infant, children and maternity items, such as books, toys, clothing, diapers, strollers, etc. Each family can take one large item and 2 bags full of smaller items. LHHMD will take place on November 15 (VT students only) and 16 (VT students and staff) at the GLC Multipurpose Room. We will be accepting donations of gently used baby and kid items in October. Check back for details on donations and event hours. Plan to give what you can and take what you need! No donations necessary to partipate in shopping! Email Jessie Meltsner with any questions or suggestions.
